Mr. Truong Gia Bao

Vice Chairman, Vietnam Industrial Real Estate Association (VIREA)

Mr. Truong Gia Bao (Leon Truong, Ph.D., MBA) is an expert in industrial real estate, digital transformation, innovation, and business ecosystem development, with nearly 20 years of experience spanning technology, e-commerce, digital media, and business development.

Mr. Truong currently serves as vice chairman and secretary-general of the Vietnam Industrial Real Estate Association (VIREA), where he plays an important role in connecting businesses, promoting FDI, and advancing cooperation in the industrial real estate sector. His work focuses on the development of next-generation industrial parks, digital and green transformation, ESG, and enhancing the competitiveness of Vietnamese enterprises in global supply chains.

In addition to his role at VIREA, he is currently chairman of DTS Group; chairman of the Vietnam Digital Advertising and Content Association (VDAA); vice chairman of the Vietnam Advertising Association (VAA); vice chairman of the Vietnam Semiconductor Industry Development Committee (VSID); chairman of the Vietnam Semiconductor Industry Human Resources Development Alliance (SEVINA); and chairman of the Vietnam-China Cooperation Development Centre (VCNC).

Previously, he held management positions at FPT Online, FPT Telecom, and Sendo.vn, where he contributed to the development of various technology and e-commerce products and platforms. He was recognised among FPT’s Top Under 35 and Top 100 employees in 2015.

He is currently active as an adviser, speaker, and investment connector in areas including industrial real estate, FDI, digital transformation, AI, innovation, and high-tech industries.

Next-generation industrial parks are not defined by their name, but by their ability to solve tenants’ real-world challenges. Yet industrial property developers cannot independently provide all the required energy, logistics, water, waste management, data, financing and technology solutions. The global reconfiguration of manufacturing is creating opportunities for Vietnam, while fundamentally changing the criteria for selecting investment destinations. If investors are no longer choosing locations based solely on cost and land availability, industrial park products must evolve accordingly. This dialogue will explore how industrial park developers need to redesign their products and what capabilities they must provide to attract tenants, retain them and support their expansion.

Capital continues to shift, but opportunities do not automatically translate into competitive advantage.
